TEACHER’S SYMPOSIUM:

 

A memorable day to reckon with , igniting the spark for a great start was the Annual Symposium of the Vels group of schools was held on the 1st of June at the Injambakam campus on “Operational Culture to Perform,Reform and Transform” . The 10th symposium to be held had an elite group of speakers touching upon various aspects to make education more meaningful and fruitful.
Mr Vijay Kumar -The Director of the Vels group of schools welcomed the gathering in all delight and warmth.
The Dean-Vels group of schools-Mr Venkatachalam set the tone of the day’s proceedings in his inimitable style of rich content and the right analogies
Major General Jose Manavalan-a leadership coach and a proud soldier of the Indian Army highlighted on the qualities of leadership much essential for teachers .
Mrs Bharathi Lakshmi Principal-Vaels International brought about the pertinence of a Happy and Healthy Learning Environment in school life .
Mr Divakar Subramanian- Director Cognizant technology/NLP Trainer and coach gave an insightful talk on Frames of Mind -Child’s perspective .
The very elaborate and enlightening session on Pedagogy and Capacity Building my Educational trainer and consultant Ms Pushpa Gopal took the audience into a recap of mode of How to be an effective teacher .
Dr Mrs Arthi K Ganesh -Pro Chancellor Vels University and Advisor -Vels group of schools in her closing remarks spoke on the necessity of clarity in instruction and planning for structured and organised way of life .
Mrs Madhu Gambhir-Vice Principal Vaels International proposed the vote of thanks. An intellectually stimulating session for an audience of educators who wish to make a difference in society.

WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS:

A “7 Effective Habits – Leader In Me” program was conducted at Vaels International School, Injambakkam by the vibrant and efficient team led by Dr. Kannan Gireesh, Founder and CEO of Live Life Education. An inspiring and thought provoking session which kindled the emotional cord in all the teachers. Taking this program forward to the students of the school will create a paradigm shift in the young minds and make them responsible leaders of tomorrow. (23/04/18 – 25/04/18).

TIME PROJECT:

Students of Vaels International School participated in a Canadian based Time Project , an initiative of the UNESCO, that aims at helping the youth in realizing that this is their TIME, to raise their voices against social issues that slowly but steadily is plaguing the development of this world. It is conducted across the world, and instills a deep sense of realization and recognition alike, while simultaneously creating cultural awareness- of the arts, sports, history and geography of countries across this vast globe, where they did an activity called “Design a Clock” which involved the conceptualization of TIME, through the depiction of a certain element’s change, over the years. As a part of this project our students were involved in activities like “Design a Clock”, Shrinking Gallery, Time lapse video, Blogging and Video conference which involved the conceptualization of TIME, through the depiction of a certain element’s change, over the years depicted through Power point presentations, workshops from resource persons, visiting an orphanage and also through mime and a dance show.
