Welcome back after the Summer break. Please go over the guidelines below to ensure smooth online teaching-learning transaction until further government orders.
- Screen time as per government specifications will be followed.
- The school timing will be from 9 am to 1:25 pm for grades 4 to 7 and 9 am to 2:15 pm for grades 8 to 12. The duration of each period will be 45 minutes with a break of 5-10 minutes between classes and a lunch break of 25 minutes as specified in the timetable. Timetable will be shared soon by the class teacher through the broadcast group.
- Club activities will be held on every Friday at 3 pm and student participation in the same is highly encouraged.
- Major school events such as Investiture ceremony and VMUN may take place virtually depending on the circumstances prevailing then.
- Homework and other assignments will be posted regularly in the google classroom. Please check and complete the same on time.
- Regular academic assessments like class tests, long tests and terminal examinations will continue to take place as per schedule. The format (online/offline) will however depend on the prevailing situation.
Dos and Don’ts for students attending online classes.
Before the start of the class:
- Kindly read the online classroom (decorum) expectations as framed and posted by the teacher in the google classroom and adhere to the same on a daily basis.
- Login on time for your class.
- Make sure you have a good internet connection that supports turning on of your video while you are attending class. Request your parents to make arrangements for the same if not currently available.
- Keep all the books and stationery required for the classes handy.
- Keep the device (laptop/iphone/android device/ipad, etc) adequately charged before the start of the class, so that your class is not disrupted due to power cuts.
During Class
- Repeat the Vaels Affirmation after your teacher before the start of every class.
- Turn on your video and greet your teacher at the start of the class.
- Join the class on time so that you do not miss out on any interesting/important part of the lesson or instruction.
- Interact with the teacher as and when required of you.
- Try and avoid leaving the classroom for any reason and stay on until the end of the class.
- Use the short breaks between classes to have a short snack or use the restroom.
- Complete any work assigned to you on time.
- Sit in a well-lit and well-ventilated place so that you are comfortable and you can concentrate better.
- You can choose to have a plain background or even blur it if you wish.
- Take notes as and when required.
- Wear comfortable and decent clothes. Long locks of hair need to be neatly tied up.
- Clarify your doubts with your teachers without any hesitation. Raise your hand and wait for your turn to ask your question.
- Do not engage in any unwarranted conversations in the chat box while the class is on. Only if the teacher permits, use the chat box.
After Class
- Do not absent yourself unnecessarily.
- Please keep the class teacher informed about any genuine reasons for absenteeism.
- No form of misbehavior will be entertained, especially do not leave the meeting when questioned by the teacher or called upon to participate in any discussion.
- Please seek help if you are not able to keep pace with the proceedings of the class for whatever reason.
- Do not panic in the event of some difficulty in accessing content in the classroom. Your teachers will help you out with it.
- Do not take too long to switch between classes.
- Complete and turn-in your assignment on time.
